Moshio is a uniquely Japanese seaweed salt crafted by concentrating seawater infused with local seaweed from Awaji Island — a region long known as “treasure chest of food" with centuries of culinary heritage as the supplier to Japan’s imperial kitchens. Unlike ordinary sea salts that are simply evaporated from seawater, moshio captures both seawater and seaweed elements, offering a gentle umami sweetness and rounded flavor prized by professional chefs.
